Julianna Baggott’s latest book, the poetry collection Lizzie Borden in Love: Poems in Women’s Voices, arose from a historical fallacy. "I’d heard that Mary Todd Lincoln had died in a fire in an insane asylum," Baggott explains, "so I just wanted to write about that fiery death scene.
